Inspiration: No Waste by Diana G.

New Years Resolution: Reduce the amount of "stuff" in my life... after reading this article about a family in Mill Valley that creates only a handful of trash all year I realized it's time to start thinking more about all the ways in which I waste.... Check out their article at:

Their Kitchen...everything goes in glass jars and is bought in bulk
The Family Room- no art just a living wall and a couch that doubles as a bed

In feeling inspired to live a more waste-free life I came upon these artists who are using the trash we already have to create something new and beautiful!

German artist HA Schult installed 1,000 life-sized "Trash People" made from, you guessed it, trash, in the Ampitheatre of Xanten. Since then, his trash people have traveled to nearly every big city in the world.

Tim Noble and Sue Webster are London-based artists who use piles of junk collected from London's streets. They then project light onto the junk to draw unbelievable shadows out of it. This piece is called "Real Life is Rubbish."

Canadian-born artist Dave Hind works exclusively with reclaimed materials, which he uses to juxtapose the industrial and natural worlds. This work, titled "Meg's Pause," is made from reclaimed steel.

American artist Tom Deininger recycles junk to create images of nature. This work titled "Shell" was fashioned from cigarette butts that were picked up in beach parking lots around Newport, RI.

Korean artist Yong Ho Ji hand carves recycled rubber tire to fashion his mutant, human/animal sculptures.
