I came to the realization this year that wearing a bold red lip can do tons for your esteem, your confidence, and your attitude.  When I'm tired or feeling like I look my age, I swipe on a big red lipstick and bam! I feel younger and cooler.  Whether I'm fooling only myself or not, I feel the difference.  There's an abundance of reds out there: blood red, orangey, classic, matte, and on and on.

I especially love the red lips on the Ralph Lauren and Jil Sander Fall 2011 runways shown below. They're bright, fresh, and hopeful.  Everything a girl wants in a lipstick.

Here are some of the lipsticks I keep close by at all times.  You can't go wrong with NARS for a bold color and the Julie Hewett lipstick feels retro and glam from the packaging to the creamy color.
